All of our Elective programs recently participated in a field trip to Rutgers University, New Brunswick campus for an exclusive, behind the scenes tour of some of their facilities. Our Theater Arts/Drama students received a tour of the Cabaret Theatre and the Mason Gross School of the Arts program. Woodshop/Carpentry students visited the ECE (Electrical and Computer Engineering) and the CEE (Civil and Environmental Engineering) programs. Our Art students also toured the Mason Gross School of the Arts, but were able to delve deeper into what Rutgers has to offer in terms of their Visual Arts programs. Cosmetology students toured the Cosmetic Design department, and Fashion Design students were introduced to Rutgers Business of Fashion courses, and were able to view the Cabaret Theatre's costume designs. This field trip provided our students with insight into the variety of Fine and Practical Arts programs and activities available at the state university level, and will certainly assist them in developing their own post-high school transition plans.
